Spiritual Warfare Academy Adopts the VMTC Pattern of Ministry In Redding California

We are excited to announce that Spiritual Warfare Academy has officially adopted the VMTC – Victorious Ministry Through Christ pattern of ministry.

This Spirit-led partnership unites two ministries with one purpose—to equip believers for freedom, healing, and victorious living through the transforming power of Jesus Christ. The VMTC pattern, established through decades of faithful ministry, provides a biblical and time-tested framework for prayer, confession, forgiveness, and spiritual restoration.

As part of this alignment, trained VMTC Ministers will equip and mentor Spiritual Warfare Academy pastors—ensuring that each minister serves under biblical authority, spiritual covering, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. This partnership will establish consistency in ministry practice and uphold the integrity of the VMTC pattern across all training and ministry sessions.

By adopting this model, Spiritual Warfare Academy will train and release additional prayer ministers, increasing the number of prayer sessions available to those in need of healing and freedom. This will allow individuals seeking ministry to receive help more quickly, under the same Spirit-led process that has guided VMTC for decades.

This new season marks a deeper alignment of vision, faith, and calling. Together, we move forward under one purpose: to go where Jesus went, to minister as He ministered, and to serve for the good of the one receiving ministry.

Definition Of Deliverance

The generally agreed-upon definition of “deliverance ministry” will usually focus on the casting out of demons or spirits in an attempt to solve problems related to specific demons.

Deliverance Minister

A deliverance minister may seek to help someone overcome persistent anger by discerning and casting out a spirit of anger, while also guiding the person toward repentance, forgiveness, and renewal of the mind through God’s Word. Deliverance ministry goes beyond casting out demons; it focuses on identifying and tearing down spiritual strongholds, healing deep wounds of the soul, and restoring emotional and spiritual wholeness. Ultimately, the goal is for every believer to walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won, living each day empowered by His Spirit and no longer bound by the enemy’s influence.

Interaction

Many teachings on deliverance and spiritual warfare explain that the soul, curses, and the legal rights of demons are deeply connected—the wounded soul becomes vulnerable to the effects of curses, which in turn give the enemy legal rights to oppress until those rights are broken through repentance, forgiveness, and the authority of Jesus Christ. Biblically, demons or evil spirits are known to be fallen angels that rebelled in heaven with Satan (Revelation 12:49Isaiah 14:12–20Ezekiel 28:1–19)

Satan & Demons

Scripture certainly contains much about Satan and his host of demons, yet comparatively little about the process of deliverance from them—and nothing that presents deliverance as a distinct “ministry.” The established offices of the Church are listed in Ephesians 4:11: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. The apostles and prophets formed the foundation of the Church, with Jesus Christ as the Chief Cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). Notably, the ability to cast out demons is not identified as a spiritual gift or a formal ministerial office in the New Testament.

The Gospels and Acts record that Jesus and His disciples cast out demons as part of demonstrating the authority of God’s Kingdom. However, in the epistles (Romans through Jude), while demonic activity is acknowledged, there is no instruction on specific methods for casting out demons, nor are believers commanded or encouraged to do so. Instead, Christians are exhorted to put on the whole armor of God to stand against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:10–18), to resist the devil (James 4:7), and to give no place to him in their lives (Ephesians 4:27). The emphasis of the New Testament is therefore on personal spiritual discipline, resistance, and submission to God, rather than on developing a specialized deliverance ministry.

Authority in the name of Jesus Christ

Rather than being appointed to a specific “deliverance ministry,” every believer has been given authority in the powerful name of Jesus. This authority is not based on personal position or title, but on the finished work of Christ and His indwelling Spirit. In Mark 9:38–40, John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” Jesus replied, “Do not stop him. For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us.”

This passage reveals that authority over demons operates through the name and power of Jesus, not through affiliation or a designated office. Deliverance, therefore, is not a separate or superior ministry reserved for a few, but a manifestation of Christ’s authority working through obedient believers who act in faith. It is always the Lord’s power, not human technique or title, that brings freedom and victory over the forces of darkness.

Spiritual Warfare & Deliverance

Authority In Jesus Name

It is interesting that we have no record of Jesus’ instructions to His disciples on how to cast out demons, with the possible exceptions of Matthew 12:43–45 and 17:19–21, where some insight is given. When the disciples discovered that demons were subject to them in the name and authority of Jesus, they were joyful (Luke 10:17; cf. Acts 5:168:716:1819:12). But Jesus told the disciples, “Do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven” (Luke 10:20).

Spiritual Warfare

The emphasis in spiritual warfare is highlighted in verses such as 1 John 4:4, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world [the devil].” The victory is ours because of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. Believers can overcome their struggles with the past, habits, and addictions, because “everyone born of God overcomes the world” (1 John 5:4). We need prayer, godly counsel, and the support of a good church, but not necessarily a “deliverance minister.”

Watch and Be Alert

We are told to “be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith. . . . And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast” (1 Peter 5:8–10).

Keeping Your Victory

The key to victory in the Christian life is to be filled (controlled and empowered) with the Holy Spirit on a moment-by-moment basis (Ephesians 5:18). The Father knows who are His: “Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” (Romans 8:14). The Holy Spirit will not indwell anyone who is not born again (John 3:3–82 Timothy 2:19Acts 1:81 Corinthians 3:16), so the first step in spiritual victory is to place our faith in Jesus Christ. Then, rejoice that Jesus is in you and you have His power and His victory.

Delivered From Spirits

It is essential to make explicit another issue about deliverance ministry that we see in the Bible. That is, when people are delivered from spirits, the spirits come OUT of them. That means the spirit must first have been IN them! Look at the following scriptures: Matt 12:43, Mark 1:26, Mark 5:8. The spirit comes out. Demons do exist outside of us, but they seek to enter in so they can accomplish their mission most effectively: to kill, steal, and destroy.

We Are All Victims of Sin

All of us are victims of the sins of others; whether during childhood, the recent past, or part of the marriage relationship. We also suffer from our own sins, many of which we cannot identify. And, of course, the very real attacks of Satan, especially through past or present occult involvements.

Who Should Attend Training?

The purpose of Deliverance Boot Camp is to train ministers of Christ who are called to care for people in need of healing for brokenness and bondages caused by crippling relationships or circumstances of their pasts.

During prayer sessions, the Lord sets His ministers free from their own blocks and bondages. As they share more fully His Victory of the Cross, they can more effectively claim Jesus’ power over sin and Satan in the lives of other people.

Those attending must be willing to first be healed themselves. This is NOT a “Rehabilitation Center”, but rather a “Training Time” for those called by God to help heal others.

Those who desire to minister to others and to see restoration through Christ. This includes qualified, stable, mature followers of Jesus. Spouses are encouraged to attend.

Deliverance is For Today

After Jesus resurrection, he gave the church its marching orders in Mark 16:15-19. Jesus commanded His followers to preach the good news, heal people, and drive out demons. The mandate is unambiguous. We are of the view that the ministry of deliverance is for the church today and did not end.

Deliverance is a process, not a “recipe,” and we understand that it is Christ who does the work (and gets the glory) because He has given us (the church) authority and power according to His Holy Spirit at work within us. We rely upon the gifts of the Holy Spirit when we minister and always ask them to be present and to work through us.

We need to understand that when we are born again, we become a child of God and that we are no longer slaves and orphans. This revelation is essential to understand.

Holy Spirit Lead

Our approach is to teach and prepare the prayee for deliverance, minister to them quietly and gently (without fanfare), and let the power of God set them free. We think it is also essential to follow up the deliverance session with a teaching session on how to stay free and discern and do warfare when the spirits seek to return to the house.

Interview & Teaching
Steps One & Two

Step One: Preparation for a prayer session starts with a questions and answers sheet filled out by the person receiving ministry.

Step Two: This one-hour session focuses on teaching open doors for demonic torment in a believer’s life. An in-depth presentation is typically involved in teaching about the open doors.

Third Step

Step Three: This session teaches the client how to close the open doors and remove the spirits’ legal rights to be in them. The key elements here focus on four primary areas: forgiveness, releasing judgments, dealing with generational and word curses, and ungodly soul ties. The purpose is to make sure the prayee understands how these are open doors and to prepare them to deal with these through the declarations that are to come.

Forth & Fifth Session

Step four: is the deliverance prayer time where a man and a women will minister to the one receiving ministry.

Step five: focuses on teaching the client some of the elements of spiritual warfare and moving on to their walk (sanctification process) with the Lord.
